Notes Green cloth with printed red labels to front and spine and gilt titles to same is very clean and neat. Colour illustrated dust jacket is also very clean but slightly rubbed and rolled to edges with two closed tears to the front and some loss to the tail end pf the dust jacket spine. Price clipped. Contemporary gift inscription to endpapers. The matching box is a little softened to edges and somewhat rubbed and scuffed else clean, sound and square.

Hardback. The Saturday Book was an annual cultural miscellany edited in its later years by John Hadfield (author of Love on a Branch Line). This edition includes poems by Philip Larkin and Elizabeth Jennings and subjects covered include the art of tattooing, Grand Canary, clocks, Jules David and Victorian fashion plates by Vyvyan Holland accompanied by vintage plates many in colour, the golden age of acting illustrated with black and white publicity photographs. The edition is also illustrated by wood-engravings of bridges by George Mackley, line drawings and vintage adverts etc. Dust jacket illustrated by William McLaren. In original matching box.
